Job summary

Select Medical is seeking a Patient Service Specialist for our Suffolk, VA outpatient physical therapy center. You will greet and register patients, share what to expect during visits, and help with the next appointment as they check out.

The role includes scheduling in person and by phone, coordinating with attorneys, insurers and translation services, and handling co-pays, authorizations and verifications to keep patient flow smooth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year front desk experience.
• At least 1 year medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone.
• Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders and business development team.
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.

Monday through Thursday (7am to 4:30pm) & Fridays (7am to 11am)

Compensation:

$17-$19/hour - (Pending experience)

Minimum Qualifications

• 1 Year of Front Desk Experience
