Job summary

Munson Healthcare in Traverse City, MI, is seeking a Medical Business Specialist (Receptionist) to be the first point of contact for patients and families.

You will collect and verify required patient and insurance information, entering it accurately into the registration system, and schedule appointments, referrals, and tests.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED. Associate Degree Preferred
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a Medical Practice Business Associate or similar healthcare role
• Proficient in typing, Windows, and experience with multiple computer systems.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for patients and families.
• Obtain/verify all required patient and insurance information and enter into the registration system accurately.
• Schedule patient appointments, referrals, and diagnostic testing.
• Greet patients professionally in person and over the telephone and respond effectively to patients and their families.
