Position Summary/Scope Of Responsibility

The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics LLC (CAO) is one of the nation's largest Orthopaedics practices, owned and operated by physicians, with over 60 locations across Maryland, Northern Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The Front Desk Receptionist provides the first professional, knowledgeable, and caring impression for patients. Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing patient inquiries, maintaining supplies, and ensuring accurate documentation of all patient information, including billing.

Responsibilities
  1. Greet and attend to patients in person and over the phone, notifying providers of patient arrivals.
  2. Maintain an efficient appointment schedule to maximize patient satisfaction and provider efficiency.
  3. Manage multiline telephone systems politely and efficiently.
  4. Retrieve and update patient records to ensure treatment information is available.
  5. Verify financial records, collect patient charges, and process third-party claims.
  6. Manage office inventory and maintain a neat reception area.
  7. Assist patients with documentation, insurance, and billing inquiries.
  8. Communicate proactively with staff to coordinate scheduling and patient care.
  9. Handle office mail and participate in emergency routines as required.
  10. Comply with all relevant laws, policies, and guidelines.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of medical office administrative experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with medical record systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
