Job summary

Rush University Medical Center in Odenton, MD is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to greet and register patients, schedule appointments, and manage insurance coordination at the front desk of our outpatient physical therapy center.

The role is full-time with a Monday–Friday schedule (3 days 7am–3:30pm and 2 days 9am–5:30pm). Compensation ranges from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of front desk experience preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and about their next appointment at check-out.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and by phone.
• Maintain communication with attorneys' offices, insurers, translation services, and internal teams.
• Collect co-pays, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.
