Job summary

Northwest Extremity Specialists is seeking a Medical Receptionist to resolve patient issues related to claims, benefits, referrals, and access. You will manage a high volume of inbound calls, enter patient information, verify eligibility, and ensure a positive front office patient experience.

Qualifications

• Three (3) or more years of experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Proficient computer skills preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills, especially in patient and physician relations.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and verifying the purpose for the patient’s visit to determine priority.
• Inputting all information into the practice management system.
• Verifying eligibility and performing financial screenings.
• Monitoring patient wait times and communicating status to patients during visits.
• Scheduling appointments and preparing charts in advance of visits.
• Telephone management ensuring calls are answered and resolved as expected.
• Communicating with the patient care team to ensure seamless hand-offs.
• Collecting patient co-pays and payments, and daily reconciliation of collections.
• Monitoring waiting rooms and keeping waiting areas clean.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.
• Maintaining service standards and exhibiting excellent telephone/personal etiquette.
