Job summary

The Department of Medicine Education Services at the University of Wisconsin–Madison seeks a Health Professions Education Coordinator to support undergraduate medical education. You will coordinate clinical learning experiences, educational programming, and student-focused initiatives that develop future physicians.

Reporting to the Medical Student Academic Program Manager, you will partner with faculty and staff to deliver curriculum, recruit and support preceptors, and manage program logistics

Qualifications

• 2 years relevant work experience in medical education administration or related field
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including strong working knowledge of Excel for data management, tracking, reporting, and analysis; highly adept at using software applications such as video conferencing platforms, presentation programs, calendaring systems, and collaborative productivity tools, including Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Orients department and affiliate site coordinators and teaching faculty to curriculum, policies, and logistics
• Maintains accurate records of the curriculum, evaluations, and participation
• Schedules evaluations, assessments, and teaching sessions, and creates and maintains the academic year calendar and/or clinical rotation schedules
• Contributes to the design, development and implementation of curriculum, evaluations and both computer-based and performance-based assessments
• May manage the unit budget and approve unit expenditures
• Maintains a thorough understanding of accreditation program requirements, regulatory requirements, and hospital/clinical setting and program policies to ensure accreditation and compliance with regulatory bodies and pertinent policies
• Partners with faculty and educational leaders to implement initiatives that advance learner engagement, support career development, and strengthen the pipeline of future physicians entering Internal Medicine and its subspecialties
• Serves as resource to advise learners of program/institutional policies and procedures
• Serves as the primary contact for the program, liaising with those directly associated with the program, institutional offices, and affiliated teaching sites, in and out of the state of Wisconsin
