Job summary

Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. seeks a Counsel to advise on commercial, legal and compliance matters for a medical device company. You will draft and negotiate complex contracts, review RFP materials, ensure marketing compliance, and guide healthcare regulatory issues.

The role reports to the VP, Legal & Compliance, and involves supporting CMSU and NXC across governance, employment, privacy, and training activities. Must be a licensed attorney in good standing.

Qualifications

• Must be a member of the State Bar.
• Law degree required.
• Three years of attorney experience, ideally with a medical device company.
• Knowledge of healthcare laws and FDA regulatory issues.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Adept at handling complex contract negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts including customer, vendor and supplier agreements.
• Review materials for responses to RFPs.
• Advise on Truth in Advertising and regulatory compliance for marketing collateral.
• Provide guidance on sponsorships and educational grants approvals.
• Manage litigation and pre-litigation matters with outside counsel.
• Draft and review policies concerning healthcare compliance and other policies.
• Provide legal advice on healthcare compliance, employment law, and privacy.
• Create and conduct training on various legal and compliance matters.
• Conduct legal research on issues impacting CMSU and subsidiaries.
