Job summary

Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. is seeking a Counsel to advise on general commercial, legal, and compliance matters for a medical device company.

You will provide strategic, practical legal counsel to support objectives while ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, and policies. The role involves drafting and negotiating complex contracts, reviewing RFP responses, ensuring truthful marketing compliance, and training teams on legal issues.

• Adept at handling complex contract negotiations.

• Knowledge of employment law, including termination, benefits, and leaves.
• Knowledge of healthcare laws (Anti-Kickback, False Claims Act, HIPAA, Open Payments).
• Team player who interacts with CMSU and NXC.
• Must be a member of the State Bar.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial contracts (customer, BD, research, consulting, vendor).
• Review and advise on materials for RFP responses.
• Review marketing collateral for compliance with advertising standards and regulations.
• Advise on approval of commercial sponsorships and educational grants.
• Manage litigation and pre-litigation matters with outside counsel.
• Draft and review policies concerning healthcare compliance and other policies.
• Provide legal advice on healthcare compliance, employment law, and privacy.
• Create and conduct training on legal and compliance matters.
• Conduct legal research on issues impacting the company and subsidiaries.
