Job summary

Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. is seeking a Counsel (Medical Device/Equipment) to advise on commercial, legal and compliance matters, providing strategic legal counsel to support business objectives.

You will draft, negotiate, review complex contracts and manage outside counsel for litigation. The role requires knowledge of healthcare laws and employment law, plus strong communication and policy drafting skills.

Qualifications

• Must be a member of the State Bar and have a law degree.
• Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts.
• Knowledge of healthcare laws and privacy regulations.
• Experience advising on employment law and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial contracts, including customer, business development, research, consulting, vendor and supplier agreements.
• Review and advise on materials in response to RFPs (requests for proposal).
• Review marketing collateral for regulatory compliance and Truth in Advertising principles.
• Advise on approvals for sponsorships and educational grants.
• Manage litigation and pre-litigation matters with outside counsel.
• Draft and review policies regarding healthcare compliance and other company policies.
• Provide legal advice on healthcare compliance, employment law, and privacy.
• Create and conduct training on various legal and compliance topics.
• Conduct legal research on issues impacting the company and subsidiaries.
