Job summary

Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. is seeking a Counsel to advise CMSU on legal and compliance matters, providing strategic guidance to support business objectives while ensuring regulatory adherence.

The role will draft and negotiate contracts, review marketing materials for compliance, oversee sponsorships, manage litigation with outside counsel, and train teams on legal issues. A State Bar admission and a JD are required, with at least three years of practice in the medical device sector.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney admitted to the State Bar.
• Three years of practice, preferably in medical devices.
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Knowledge of healthcare laws including Anti-Kickback, False Claims Act, HIPAA.
• Ability to advise on compliance, employment law, and privacy.
• Excellent written and oral communication; strong presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Team-oriented with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial contracts (customer, vendor, BD, research).
• Review RFPs and advise on response materials.
• Review marketing collateral for regulatory compliance.
• Advise on approvals of sponsorships and educational grants.
• Manage litigation and pre-litigation matters with outside counsel.
• Draft and review policies on healthcare compliance and other policies.
• Provide legal advice on healthcare compliance, employment law, and privacy.
• Create and conduct trainings on legal matters.
• Conduct legal research impacting the company and its subsidiaries.
