Job summary

Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. is seeking a Counsel to provide legal advice on commercial, regulatory, and privacy matters for a leading medical device company in the United States.

The role involves drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts, advising on RFP responses, and ensuring compliance with healthcare laws and industry standards. The ideal candidate has a JD, bar admission, and at least three years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and active State Bar membership.
• At least 3 years of attorney experience, preferably with a medical device company.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills for complex contracts.
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance laws (Anti-Kickback, False Claims Act, HIPAA).
• Experience with regulatory matters and training development.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to advise across healthcare, employment, and privacy laws.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial contracts.
• Review and advise on materials in response to RFPs (request for proposal).
• Review marketing collateral for compliance with Truth in Advertising and regulatory requirements.
• Advise on requests for approval of commercial sponsorships and educational grants.
• Manage litigation and pre-litigation matters primarily handled by outside counsel.
• Draft and review company policies and procedures concerning healthcare compliance and FDA issues.
• Provide legal advice to CMSU on healthcare compliance, employment law, and privacy.
• Create and conduct training on various legal and compliance matters.
• Conduct legal research on issues impacting the company and its subsidiaries.
