Job summary

University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School is seeking a Data Entry Operator/Customer Service to accurately enter demographic data from daily specimen batches and generate reports for data accuracy. You will track specimens, document records, and coordinate with authorized medical personnel.

The role requires typing at least 50 wpm, solid PC skills, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality while supporting laboratory operations, including occasional holiday/weekend work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• General knowledge of personal computers.
• Ability to type 50 words per minute with an accuracy of at least 90%.

Responsibilities

• Enter demographic data into LIMS for daily specimen batches.
• Generate and check computerized reports for data accuracy.
• Track specimens and document records.
• Communicate with authorized medical personnel.
• Print and process Patient Reports to Physicians and Hospitals.
• Maintain confidentiality of all records and shred old documents as required.
• Assist in accessioning newly arrived specimens as needed.
• Work some holidays and Saturdays.
