Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a medical coder to abstract data and assign ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT codes for hospital procedures. You will use PMS for demographics and services and coordinate with physicians to obtain necessary records.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of provider coding, strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and medical terminology, plus CCS-P or CPC credentials. Remote coding experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in provider coding with medical terminology and ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS knowledge.
• Experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, PM&R or Pain Management.
• Meets quality and productivity standards in coding/abstracting.
• Experience with coding software; remote coding preferred.
• Proficient PC skills, keyboarding and applications.
• Strong anatomy and medical terminology knowledge.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Abstracts data per policies and assigns accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Uses PMS to document demographics and services for surgical cases.
• Coordinates with physicians to obtain records for coding and billing.
• Provides education and support on documentation and coding for accurate billing.
