Job summary

Optum is looking for a Medical Coder to support IPA providers with ICD-10-CM coding education for Medicare Advantage. The role focuses on training clinical documentation to accurately report diagnoses and build patient health profiles.

You will conduct concurrent reviews, perform chart retrievals, and ensure CMS compliance while collaborating with providers and internal teams to improve care outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience with ICD-10-CM coding for CMS guidelines.
• Ability to perform concurrent reviews and chart retrievals.
• Strong knowledge of Medicare Advantage coding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Coding and Documentation resource by performing concurrent reviews and chart retrievals.
• Communicate coding audit findings and CMS guidelines to providers.
• Perform coding reviews through Internal System and routine records retrievals.
• Collaborate with leaders to identify needs and develop solutions.
• Maintain relationships with clinic partners and providers.
