Job summary

Posterity Group LLC is staffing The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center with Medical Coders. The Medical Coder will attach images to electronic health records, verify legibility, locate FINs, and link documents to the correct veteran record.

Responsibilities include indexing by note title, date of service, and visit location, and performing 100% internal QA before submission. Required credentials include RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent, with at least 3 years of coding experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in medical coding or VA healthcare.
• Proficient in locating FINs and linking documents to veteran records.
• Experience with Cerner/Oracle or comparable EHR systems.
• Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of clinical documentation and medical clinics.

Responsibilities

• Attach images to electronic health record elements accurately.
• Verify images are uploaded correctly and legible for viewing.
• Locate FINs and accurately link documents to the correct veteran record.
• Index documents within the correct section, note title, date of service, and visit location.
• Perform 100% internal QA on all work before submission.
