Job summary

Posterity Group LLC is staffing The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center with Medical Coders. The coder will attach images to EHR elements, verify legibility and proper upload, locate FINs, and index documents to veteran records.

A rigorous internal QA process is performed before submission. Requirements include active coding credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC or equivalent), 3+ years of experience, and familiarity with Cerner/Oracle or similar EHR systems.

Qualifications

• Active coding credential required (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent).
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of VA or federal healthcare coding preferred.
• Ability to locate FINs and link documents to veteran records.
• Experience with Cerner/Oracle or similar EHR systems.
• Data entry with high accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Understanding of medical clinics and clinical documentation.
• Knowledge of indexing health records.

Responsibilities

• Attach images to correct EHR elements.
• Verify images are legible and uploaded correctly.
• Index documents with correct section, note title, date of service, and visit location.
• Perform 100% internal QA before submission.
• Locate FINs and link documents to veteran records.
