Job summary

Hand and Reconstructive Surgeons is seeking a Medical Center Representative to handle clerical tasks, reception, patient registration and billing for the medical center. You will be the first point of contact for patients, upholding the practice's excellent reputation and handling high volumes of sensitive information daily.

Responsibilities include scheduling, patient registration, and referrals, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of experience in an ambulatory health care facility preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA; confidentiality is essential.
• Knowledge of Third Party Payers, ICD-9 and CPT coding is a plus.
• Computer and keyboarding skills; EMR experience (Epic preferred).
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; works with multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Handle general clerical duties, receptionist tasks, and patient registration.
• Manage scheduling, billing/collection functions, and referrals.
• Protect and manage sensitive medical and financial information daily.
• Provide excellent customer service as the first point of contact for patients.
• Collaborate with the Practice Manager and healthcare teams.
