Job summary

CareNow urgent care in Texas is seeking a Medical Assistant - X-ray Tech PRN to join a patient-centric team. You will perform EKGs, vitals, injections, and imaging per provider orders while maintaining accurate EHR documentation.

The role requires clinical experience, a Medical Assistant credential, and active certifications (BLS, and radiology licenses as applicable). This PRN position offers a sign-on bonus and strong benefits within a large hospital network.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required.
• GMRT, LMRT, or NCT license required in state of residency.
• AAMA certification preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of start.
• Must obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs, and administer IM injections.
• Perform x-ray/imaging services per provider's orders and update patient charts.
• Collect patient history and document in the EHR.
• May apply splints, dressings, and bandages.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and audit charts.
• Maintain logs for in-house lab work and external lab results.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
