Job summary

Corewell Health in Grand Haven is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to join the Urgent Care Admin - Medical Group West team. You will support clinicians, perform patient intake and clinical tasks during day shifts, with a minimum of training hours required in the first 4–8 weeks.

The role requires a high school diploma, completion of an MA program (or one year direct care experience), BLS certification within 90 days, and CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA credentials within 120 days; on-site care,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program with hands-on training OR 1 year of direct patient care experience.
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
• One of CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA certifications required within 120 days.

Job description

This position requires at a minimum two 8 hour shifts every 6 weeks. There is potential to work up to part time hours when needed, and available. Please note that you would need to be able to train at a minimum of part time hours for the initial 4-8 weeks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands‑on, in‑person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
• One of the following Required within 120 Days AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
• NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
