Job summary

Corewell Health operates the Care Center Grand Haven, where a part-time Medical Assistant is needed to join the urgent care admin team. You will support clinicians, perform front/back-office tasks, and ensure patient care is delivered efficiently in a busy outpatient setting.

The role requires MA training completion or equivalent experience, BLS certification within 90 days, and MA certification within 120 days. Part-time daytime shifts offered with 8 weekly hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of accredited MA training program with hands-on clinical skills OR 1 year direct patient care experience (MA/LPN/Paramedic/EMT).
• 1 year relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
• One of CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA or NRCMA certification required within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• As a Medical Assistant, support clinical team to ensure delivery of high-quality care.
• Provide front and back-office assistance and patient care support as part of the team.
• Assist clinicians in patient assessments, documentation, and procedures as needed.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience and efficient clinic operations.

Job description

This position requires at a minimum two 8 hour shifts every 6 weeks. There is potential to work up to part time hours when needed, and available. Please note that you would need to be able to train at a minimum of part time hours for the initial 4-8 weeks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
• One of the following Required within 120 Days
