Job summary

Corewell Health's Urgent Care Alpine location in Grand Rapids seeks a Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced clinical team in the outpatient setting. You will support physicians and other staff, perform basic clinical tasks, and help ensure timely, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited MA program or one year of relevant healthcare experience, BLS within 90 days, and CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/ NRCMA certification within 120

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program with hands-on training OR a minimum of one year in MA, LPN, Paramedic or EMT in direct patient care.
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
• One of CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or NRCMA certification required within 120 days.

Scope of work

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands‑on, in‑person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
• One of the following Required within 120 Days
  • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
  • NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
