Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Medical Assistant Supervisor for the Manhattan Cardio-Clinical Ops site. You will oversee MA staff, coordinate patient care activities, and partner with nurses and physicians to implement efficient workflows and ensure high-quality patient experiences.

In this leadership role you will manage attendance, scheduling, and payroll for direct reports, enforce HIPAA and compliance standards, and train MA/PCA staff while supporting QA activities and patient flow

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution OR upon hire hold a current medical assistant Certification from a nationally recognized body (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA).
• At least 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Proficiency in EKG, phlebotomy.
• Progressive leadership; demonstrated in a leadership position or potential for leadership competency.
• Knowledge of medical insurance eligibility and authorization rules.

Responsibilities

• Oversees MA staff and patient care activities at a Faculty Group Practice site.
• Manages attendance, schedules, sick time changes; responsible for timekeeping and payroll for direct reports.
• Plans and coordinates MA activities; participates in interdisciplinary patient care planning; acts as MA when needed.
• Liaisē between clinical staff and physicians to ensure effective service; maintains relationships with physicians.
• Ensures suites are staffed to avoid provider delays and cross-trains staff for coverage.
• Trains MA/PCA roles and enforces adherence to policies and regulatory guidelines.
