Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or MA certification at hire.
• At least 2 years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Proficiency in EKG, phlebotomy/venipuncture.
• Progressive leadership with ability to coach and develop staff.
• Knowledge of medical insurance eligibility and authorization rules.

Responsibilities

• Oversees MA/PCA staff and patient care activities at Faculty Group Practice site.
• Resolves employee issues; manages attendance, schedules, and payroll for direct reports.
• Plans and coordinates MA activities; participates in interdisciplinary patient care planning; serves as back-up MA as needed.
• Acts as liaison between clinical staff and physicians to ensure quality patient care and communication.
• Ensures proper staffing to avoid provider delays and promotes cross-training for administrative activities.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and enforces FGP policies and procedures.
• Oversees QA/QI activities related to Point of Care Testing and patient safety initiatives.
