Job summary

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and completion of a Medical Assistant Program, with at least 2 years of MA experience and proficiency in EKG and venipuncture. Strong leadership, communication, and knowledge of insurance rules are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Medical Assistant Program completed or MA certification.
• At least 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Proficiency in EKG, phlebotomy/venipuncture.
• Progressive leadership; ability to guide, motivate, and coach others.
• Knowledge of medical insurance eligibility and authorization rules.

Responsibilities

• Oversees MA staff and patient care activities at a Faculty Group Practice site.
• Resolves employee issues; manages attendance, schedules, and payroll for direct reports.
• Coordinates and schedules MA activities; collaborates with physicians; provides back-up coverage.
• Liaises between clinical staff and physicians to ensure quality patient care; maintains relationships with group physicians.
• Ensures infection control standards, patient privacy, and compliance with HIPAA and related policies.
