Job summary

Cook Children's Health Care System in Texas is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Sleep Medicine Clinic in ambulatory care. You will collaborate with physicians and licensed staff to prepare and deliver patient care with a focus on patient experience.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm. Requires graduation from an accredited MA program or current MA certification, plus a current BLS certification; national certification is preferred. Cook Children's is a Texas-only employer.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program or hold current MA certification.
• Current BLS certification required; national certification preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with physicians and licensed staff in ambulatory care.

Medical Assistant -Sleep Medicine Clinic

The Medical Assistant will function in collaborative practice with physician(s) and/or advanced practice provider(s) in an ambulatory care setting. Assists in the preparation and delivery of ambulatory patient care as directed by provider(s) and other licensed clinical personnel. Skillfully and consistently performs clinical duties per established departmental policies and procedures. The care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment appropriate to the ambulatory care setting with an emphasis on good customer relations.

Schedule:Monday-Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm

Education and Experience

• Either a graduate of an accredited MA school OR a current MA certification required.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

• Current BLS Certification required.
• National certification preferred.
