Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network in Bethlehem is looking for a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations in the practice.

You will perform pre-visit planning, charting, patient preparation, injections, and coordinate with the Care Team to ensure high-quality patient care. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of clinical experience; CPR/BLS certification within 60 days is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent is required.
• One year of clinical experience OR graduate of a Medical Assistant program.
• BLS/CPR current or within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient records for pre-visit planning and confers with provider on needed services.
• Completes pre-charting up to five days prior to appointment; notifies Care Team as needed.
• Prepares patients for examination; updates med list, allergies, history and vital signs.
• Assists with exam room setup, cleaning, supplies, and handling of specimens and injections.
• Communicates with providers and Care Team about discharges, ED visits and tests.
• Participates in department meetings and quality improvement activities.
