Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support practice operations. The role involves patient preparation, vital signs, updating medical records, and assisting with both clinical and administrative duties.

You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care. The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and/or completion of a Medical Assistant program, with CPR/BLS current or within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent is required.
• One year of clinical experience OR graduation from a Medical Assistant program is required.
• Two years of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
• BLS/CPR current or within 60 days of hire; per American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Pre-visit planning by reviewing patient records and updating necessary information.
• Prepare patients for examination including vitals, medications and allergy updates.
• Perform administrative tasks such as check-in/check-out and charting.
• Dispose of bio-hazardous waste and maintain clean exam rooms.
• Maintain vaccine temperature logs and inventory of supplies.
• Coordinate with Care Team and providers regarding follow-up, labs and referrals.
