Job summary

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team in Charlotte, NC. The MA collaborates with a primary care physician to deliver high-quality patient care and a welcoming guest experience, handling both front desk and clinical duties.

The role requires 1 year of MA experience, completion of an MA program, and CPR/BLS certification; National/state MA certification is preferred. Phlebotomy experience is a plus. Apply to join a growing, patient-first healthcare provider.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
• National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred; MA certification or registration is required for employment in states where certification/registration is required.
• CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to room and ensures exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
• Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures; work with contracted labs for tests.
• Prepares and administers approved medications and immunizations as directed by the Provider.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, referrals, and other care coordination.
• Records accurate and pertinent data in the medical record; communicates test results timely via e-message, mail or phone.
• Participates in outreach to patients to drive engagement among eligible patient groups.
• Maintains clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatments.
