Job summary

Oak Street Health in Independence, MO is hiring a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our team-based care delivery. You will room patients, take vital signs, perform basic tests, assist providers, and support care coordination for Medicare patients in community clinics.

The role requires a Medical Assistant certification or registration, CPR, EMR experience, and excellent communication. Fluency in additional languages is a plus, and US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required.
• Medical Assistant certification or registration required.
• 3-5 years in a Medical Assistant role preferred.
• EMR experience required.
• 2+ years working with geriatric patients preferred.
• US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and assist the provider with timely scheduling.
• Deliver an exceptional patient experience and prep for visits.
• Obtain vital signs and review medications.
• Perform routine patient screenings per protocols.
• Order supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Conduct quality control checks and infection control measures.
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, safe and ready for visits.
• Provide telephonic support under RN/protocol guidance.
• Assist with home-based support for high-risk members.
• Administer vaccinations and perform MA visits as appropriate.
