Job summary

Oak Street Health in Norristown, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our care teams. You will greet and room patients, assist providers, and perform routine tests and screenings as part of a high-touch primary care model.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification or registration required; US work authorization.
• Minimum 3 years in a Medical Assistant role.
• EMR experience and proficiency required.
• Experience with geriatric patients preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Fluency in additional languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and assist the provider to stay on schedule.
• Deliver an exceptional patient experience and prep patients for visits.
• Obtain vital signs, chief complaints and review medications.
• Deliver patient screenings per protocols.
• Order supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Conduct routine QA checks, including infection control and QA of equipment/meds.
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, safe, and ready for visits.
• Provide telephonic support under RN direction.
• Assist with vaccinations and procedures (e.g., ABI, spirometry, EKGs).
• Perform waived laboratory testing.
• Schedule diagnostic testing.
• Assist with durable medical equipment applications.
• Participate in care team meetings and clinic operations.

CPR Certification

Spanish/Polish/Russian language skills

Education

Medical Assistant certification or registration

3+ years MA experience

Phlebotomy Certification (preferred)

Geriatric patient care experience (2+ years)
