Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to gather essential medical information, support providers with accurate data, and contribute to a high-quality patient experience. You will work with a care team to perform screenings, vital signs, vaccine administration where permitted, and coordinate with external providers.

Ideal candidates have MA certification, 1 year of experience, CPR/BLS, EMR familiarity, and strong communication skills, with English proficiency and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• State or national certification (as required by state) or graduation from an accredited medical assistant program
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant
• CPR or BLS Certification
• Electronic Medical Record experience
• Computer skills: Gmail, MS Word/Google Docs, Excel/Google Sheets

Responsibilities

• Ensure an efficient patient flow; room patients in a timely manner, complete vital signs, complete required screenings and complete medication reviews
• Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support (lab results, faxing records)
• May administer vaccinations and perform point-of-care tests (A1C, spirometry, EKGs, blood draws) as allowed by state regulations
• Import required documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload
• Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations
• Process orders for durable medical equipment
• Request medical records from external providers as required
• Conduct routine quality control checks including infection control measures and equipment checks
• Other duties as assigned
