Job summary

Oak Street Health is hiring a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist for our Swope Park location in Independence, MO. You will work as part of care teams delivering high-touch primary care to Medicare populations in medically underserved communities.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting with exams, IVs, EKGs, and coordinating with RNs and providers. CPR and MA certification required; EMR experience essential; bilingual skills a plus.

Qualifications

• CPR Certification required.
• Medical Assistant certification or registration.
• 3–5 years in a Medical Assistant role preferred.
• EMR experience required.
• 2+ years of experience working with geriatric patients.
• Phlebotomy Technician Certification preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by communities served.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and assisting provider to maintain timely schedules.
• Delivering an exceptional patient experience and preparing patients for visits.
• Obtain vital signs and review medications.
• Conduct patient screenings per protocols.
• Order supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Perform routine quality control checks and infection control.
• Assist with telephonic patient support and home-based care for high-risk members.
• Administer vaccines and perform procedures as directed.
