Job summary

VIP Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Services Representative to support two brands, Vein Treatment Clinic and Pain Treatment Specialists, across Clifton, Hoboken, and Paramus, NJ. The role combines patient care with front-desk duties to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The candidate will greet patients, triage, assist with exams, maintain clean rooms, manage records, and support providers in a fast-paced environment. English/Spanish bilingualism is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• EMR systems experience (1 year preferred) and vital signs experience preferred.
• Fully bilingual - English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet registered patients and triage via patient flow to ensure a smooth visit.
• Monitor and ensure proper functioning of clinical equipment, escalate issues.
• Assist patients to exam/procedure room, help with walking, transfers, and prep.
• Maintain sterile environment and infection control precautions.
• Prepare exam rooms, clean rooms/instruments, restock supplies between patients.
• Input patient data into the practice management system and assist providers.
• Handle clerical tasks: sending/receiving/scanning medical records and charting.
• Check expiration dates on materials and discard expired items.
• Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and triage calls to staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet registered patients upon their visit, triage patients through the patient flow process, and ensure a smooth experience.
• Monitor and ensure the proper functioning of clinical equipment, promptly escalating issues to the supervisor.
• Check schedules and accompany patients to the exam/procedure room. Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, and exam preparation.
• Maintain a sterile environment, ensuring adherence to standard infection control precautions.
• Prepare exam rooms before patient visits, clean rooms and instruments, and restock supplies between patients.
• Fulfill patient care responsibilities, including taking vital signs, updating patient history, and assisting providers in the exam room. Input patient data into the practice management system.
• Fulfill clerical responsibilities, such as sending/receiving/scanning medical records, obtaining diagnostic reports and managing the charting process.
• Regularly check dated materials and medications for expiration dates and discard expired items.
• Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and triage calls to appropriate personnel.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Certification: Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• EMR systems (1 year preferred), vital signs (1 year preferred)
• Fully bilingual - English and Spanish preferred.
