Oak Street Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to gather essential medical information for providers, support patient care, and collaborate with the care team to ensure efficient visits. The MA will assist with health assessments, screenings, and routine testing during appointments.

Responsibilities include optimizing patient flow, performing screenings, assisting with vaccinations, documentation in EMR, and coordinating with healthcare professionals to maintain high-quality care.

Qualifications

• State or national certification required by state.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant.
• CPR or BLS Certification.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.
• Computer skills: Gmail, MS Word/Google Docs, Excel/Google Sheets.
• Proficiency in non-English languages as required by the center's demographics.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure an efficient patient flow; room patients, take vital signs, complete screenings and med reviews, inventory supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support (lab results, records to specialists).
• May administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests (A1C, spirometry, EKGs, blood draws).
• Import required documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
• Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment.
• Request medical records from external providers as required by the provider.
• Conduct routine quality control checks including infection control measures and equipment checks.
