Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide patient care under physician supervision. You will perform rooming, vital signs, medication reconciliation, health history reviews, and assist with procedures as ordered.

You will also perform lab duties (venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT) and administer vaccines following medication rights, while supporting scheduling, referrals and patient communications.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
• Must complete state-required MA program or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and collect vital signs during visits.
• Perform medication reconciliation and review health history.
• Assist providers with procedures as ordered.
• Conduct venipuncture and collect lab specimens; handle POCT.
• Administer vaccines following the rights of administration.
• Process refills, authorizations, scheduling and referrals.
• Maintain clean, stocked work areas and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with team and escalate when needed.
• May train or onboard new teammates.
