Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a busy outpatient setting in North Carolina. You will perform rooming tasks, gather patient history, take vital signs, and support medication reconciliation and health maintenance activities.

You will assist providers with procedures, perform basic lab duties including venipuncture and POCT, and administer vaccines safely following the rights of medication administration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 2 years of verifiable full-time MA experience in the last 5 years (where applicable).
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and take vital signs, med reconciliation, and review medical history.
• Assist providers with procedures as ordered.
• Perform lab duties including venipuncture, specimen handling, and POCT per orders.
• Administer medications and vaccines following the rights of administration.
• Maintain a clean, stocked work area and support patient scheduling and referrals.
