Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians and Advanced Care Practitioners with patient care, intake, and documentation in a fast-paced clinic in Charlotte, NC.

You will perform vital signs, venipuncture, injections, and Point of Care testing, while assisting with scheduling, lab work, and medication management. Strong communication and regulatory compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess one of the listed education/certification pathways.
• AHA BLS certification is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CHS Medical Group competency assessment may be required.
• CMA or RMA certification from AAMA/NHA/NCCT/AMT/NAHP/NRMA listed organizations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care across newborn to geriatric populations.
• Pre-visit planning with provider and care team.
• Conduct patient intake and rooming per practice procedures.
• Assist with medication administration and injections.
• Check vital signs, height and weight.
• Review medication history and update medication list.
• Support health maintenance and screening requirements.
• Perform Point of Care testing (POCT) per standing or provider orders.
• Document care electronically as directed by the provider.
• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens for lab testing.
• Monitor inventory and stock medications and equipment.
• Track and log ordered tests and report results to provider.
