Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• May have completed structured military medical training in lieu of a formal MA program (DD214).
• Current BLS certification may be required depending on division.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and policies.
• Performs rooming, vital signs, medical history, and screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs venipuncture, specimen processing, and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines following the rights of administration.
• Coordinates scheduling, insurance authorizations, and patient messaging.
