Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certificate from Medical Assistant training or 1–3 years experience as MA/EMT/CNA.
• Completion of the Northwell Health Medical Assistant training program.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with health care team to coordinate and implement plans for patient care.
• Performs vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures and documents findings.
• Collects specimens and assists in processing lab requisitions and reports.
• Performs daily checks and calibration of lab equipment as needed and reports discrepancies.
• Performs ECGs and phlebotomy per provider orders, following infection control standards.
• Assists physicians and nurses with procedures and examinations and ensures patient comfort and safety.
• Maintains cleanliness and order in examination rooms and ensures available supplies.
• Supports pre-visit chart preparation and clerical duties to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Performs related duties to support efficient clinic operations.
• All responsibilities are essential functions under ADA considerations.
