Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide patient care under supervision. Responsibilities include preparing patients, assisting with physician and nurse tasks, and documenting lab results in the medical record.

You will support a busy clinical team by taking vital signs, collecting specimens, performing ECGs and phlebotomy, and helping with exams and chart preparation while maintaining infection control and room cleanliness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant training program with certificate or 1–3 years experience as MA/EMT/CNA.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with health care team to coordinate and document patient visits.
• Performs vital signs, height, weight and screening procedures; documents findings.
• Collects specimens and assists in processing according to protocol.
• Calibrates and runs daily controls on laboratory equipment; reports issues.
• Performs ECGs and phlebotomy per orders; follows infection control standards.
• Assists with examinations and procedures under supervision; ensures supplies and setup.
• Maintains clean, stocked examination rooms and required logs.
• Prepares charting and lab results for practitioner review.
• Fulfills clerical duties to support efficient patient flow.
• All responsibilities are considered essential functions under ADA.
