Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide patient care under physician/nurse supervision. You will prepare patients for procedures, collect specimens, and document lab results in the medical record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program with certificate or 1–3 years experience as MA/EMT/CNA (with certificate) or completion of Northwell Health MA training program.
• Salary range may be offered at the time of advertisement and may change in the future.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with health care team to coordinate patient care.
• Performs vital signs, measurements, and screening procedures; documents findings.
• Collects specimens and assists providers; labels and routes specimens per procedures.
• Performs daily calibration and controls of lab equipment as needed and reports inaccuracies.
• Performs ECGs and phlebotomy per provider orders; adheres to infection control standards.
• Assists physicians in procedures and examinations; prepares supplies and positions patients as required.
• Maintains examination rooms; stocks supplies and completes required logs.
