Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program with certificate.
• 1–3 years of experience as a medical assistant, EMT, or certified nursing attendant with valid certificate.
• Successful completion of the Northwell Health Medical Assistant training program.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with health care team to coordinate and implement patient care plans.
• Records vital signs, height, weight, and screening results in the medical record.
• Collects specimens and assists providers per standard procedures.
• Performs daily controls/calibration of laboratory equipment and reports inaccuracies.
• Conducts electrocardiograms and phlebotomy per provider orders, with infection control.
• Assists physicians and nurses with procedures and examinations following infection control protocols.
• Maintains orderly examination rooms and stocks supplies.
• Pre-visits chart preparation: ensures lab results and docs are available if needed.
• Performs clerical tasks and supports efficient patient flow through the clinic.
• All duties fall under ADA essential functions.
