Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training in lieu of a formal MA program or EMT.
• Wake Forest: High School Diploma or GED plus MA program or DD214.
• IL/WI Divisions: High School Diploma or GED plus accredited/approved MA program or 2 years verifiable MA experience.
• Floyd & Navicent: High School Diploma or GED plus MA program or 2 years MA experience.

Responsabilités

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks including vitals, history, screening and health maintenance.
• Assists provider with procedures or performs as ordered.
• Performs lab duties including venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines per medication rights.
• Handles refills, authorizations, messaging, ordering, scheduling and referrals.
• Cross-trained for related duties within the clinic.
• Communicates effectively and escalates when needed.
• Keeps work areas clean and equipment stocked.
