Job summary

Atrium Health seeks a qualified Medical Assistant in the Greater Charlotte area to support patient care across clinic settings. You will perform rooming, vitals, history taking, screening, and basic lab tasks while ensuring accuracy and patient safety.

You will assist providers with procedures, administer vaccines and medications per policy, maintain clean work areas, and coordinate scheduling and referrals. A high school diploma and a MA program or equivalent training are required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including EMR usage and basic digital tools.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to scope of practice and policies while providing patient care.
  • Performs rooming tasks: vitals, history, screenings, and medication reconciliation.
  • Assists providers with procedures and performs lab-related duties per CLIA standards.
  • Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
  • Maintains clean, stocked, and organized work areas and supports scheduling and referrals.
  • Demonstrates teamwork, effective communication, and appropriate escalation.
