Job summary

You will also perform basic lab duties, POCT, and vaccines, while helping with scheduling and referrals as needed. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited MA program, with potential for cross-training across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; MA program or clinical military training may be accepted.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years full-time MA experience (last 5 years) for IL/WI.
• Wake Forest/Floyd & Navicent require or prefer MA program completion and related certification.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and follows policies; maintains competency by area of specialty.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, history, screenings, and health maintenance.
• Assists provider with procedures and performs lab duties including venipuncture and POCT.
• Administers meds and vaccines per medication rights; supports scheduling, referrals, and renewals.
• Cross-trained to cover duties across clinic specialties; maintains clean, stocked work areas.
