Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical teams across the Greater Charlotte area. The role encompasses rooming patients, taking vitals, medical history, and routine screenings, plus laboratory tasks and vaccination administration.

The position requires teamwork and adherence to patient-care policies. Two years of MA experience, completion of an accredited MA program or equivalent military clinical training, and BLS plus CMA/RMA certification are needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of MA clinical practice experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified or registered as CMA or RMA by one of the national organizations listed.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, history, medication reconciliation, screenings.
• Assists providers with procedures and labs, including venipuncture and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles refills, authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
• Communicates effectively and maintains a clean, stocked work area.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program

Structured military clinical training in lieu of MA program per DD214
