Job summary

Atrius Health in eastern Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with routine procedures and tests in the exam room.

You will measure vital signs, prepare patients for examinations, ensure pre-visit work is completed, and update the EMR with lab results and visit notes. Strong organizational skills and comfortable with patient interaction are essential.

Pay ranges hourly from $16.00 to $25.00, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate from an accredited institution.
• Medical Assistant Certification required.
• Computer experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize patient appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms according to policy and procedures.
• Prepare patient for examination; measures vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse rate, weight, and height.
• Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and/or additional tests specific to the department.
• Ensures EMR is updated with medical information and demographics, medications, allergies and chief complaints.
• Keeps patients informed of visit status and delays.
• Reconcile medications and set up pending refills; discontinues inactive prescriptions.
