Job summary

Atrius Health in Peabody, MA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with routine procedures and tests in the exam room. You will prepare patients, obtain vital signs, and ensure EMR data is accurate and up to date.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate or Medical Assistant Certification.
• Preferred: Associate degree in medical assisting or graduate of medical assistant certification program.
• Experience with EPIC EMR software preferred.
• Experience typically acquired through 2+ years in a clinical setting may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms according to policy.
• Prepare patient for examination; Measure vital signs (BP, pulse, weight, height).
• Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and tests; advise on pre-visit testing.
• Ensure EMR is updated with medical information and demographics.
• Keep patients informed of visit status and delays.
• Reconcile medications and set up pending refills; discontinue inactive prescriptions.
• Assist in resolving patient concerns and complaints as appropriate.
• Order and perform point-of-care testing (waived tests such as strep, urine, hCG, glucose).
