Job summary

Qualifications

• High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Employees who have not met the above certification criteria may have the opportunity to sit for a company proctored certification exam when qualified.
• Accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)

Responsibilities

• Assists in coordinating patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepares and rooms patients, obtains vital signs, documents patient information and medication screening.
• Performs back office testing and assists providers with examinations.
• May serve as a scribe with additional training.
• Communicates test results and follow up with patients per provider instructions.
• Maintains patient exam rooms and ensures stock of supplies using inventory standards.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments and performs lab controls as assigned.
• Documents in the EHR according to established workflows.
• May float between physician office locations as needed.
