Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification in Medical Assisting within 120 days of hire and ongoing certification training if needed.
• Accepted Medical Assistant Certification: NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA.
• Preferred: Associate's degree.
• CPR certification and background clearances required (Act 34/33/73)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care using a team-based approach under supervision.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vitals and document history in the EHR.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures; may serve as a scribe after training.
• Maintain exam rooms and inventory; sterilize instruments as per policy.
• Follow up with patients and notify results per provider instructions.
